This construction was three blocks of flats with garages underneath. I was responsible for valuing the bricklayer and carpentry works on my own and making payments. I also assisted the Senior Surveyor, Chris Murphy with valuations, materials on site and valuation and payment of other subcontractors and suppliers.
Part way through the project, someone set a fire in one of the garages under one of the blocks that unfortunately had gas cylinders stored. The explosion after effects required partial demolition, underpinning and reconstruction. I kept the records for this and agreed them with the Clerk of Works.
