This project was a timber frame two storey house that was intended for the use of the caretaker at a disabled adult facility in Purley just outside of Reading. The house was quite substantial and constructed on the side of a hill in a wooded area.
There were difficulties obtaining information from the Architect particularly for the fit out. I had to keep records of all matters and register them with the Architect. Following on from this I had to negotiate the successful final settlement.
I also got quotes for the three major subcontractors and placed the orders (groundworks, timber frame construction, MEP fit out) as well as for minor subcontractors. I prepared cost-value reports each month for the Company internally too.
