While working on the filter beds project, Kier was also given a smaller project in the existing Pump House. Old equipment that was used in the days of coal was removed and new bases were required in the building to replace them. At the same time, mechanical and electrical modifications was also undertaken.
Although this was a small project, extensive record keeping was necessary as there was considerable additional work. I kept the majority of the records, agreed them with Thames Water as well as agreeing payments for the additional works.
My other duties, like the main Filter Beds work was to attend Site Meetings, prepare valuations, obtain quotations for subcontractors, place orders, value subcontractors works as well as agreeing payments with Thames Water. Internally I also prepared internal valuation reports for Kier on this project and the main Filter Beds works.
In addition to this project, and on the same building, I assited Thames Water with contractual advice and tendering procedures for the demolition of two substantial chimneys on the side of the Pump House building.
