Once the final account on RNAD Coulport had been completed, I returned to Scotland on to an existing project at the M74 extension that was on the outskirts of Glasgow but in a fairly residential area. The project had been novated from another Contractor Lilley Scotland. Kier Construction had an Area Surveyor, Steve Stock running the project commercially and I was assigned to lead the claims team.
I had the assistance of a student who was able to put the causes onto an Access database for me and I was able to learn some basics of a database.
The research into the heads of claim was interesting and I also gained some experience with understanding possessions and blacktop laying too. I worked on the project on preparing claims for about 9 months. However, due to issues with the novation Kier was able to broker a financial settlement with the Client without the requirement to submit any claim document.

As a result therefore I was transferred to another project on Humberside.
